All Day/Nighters

All I really have to say is thank god I managed to get back to UConn before 10:30 Sunday night like my dad was planning because I have spent the entire Sunday working.
Technically I should still be working, but I'm dying a little inside so I stopped for a bit.
Let's see, today I:
-almost entirely cleaned my room
-completed a watercolor painting
-got over 40 pieces of research for A Christmas Carol
-cut, pasted, organized and plastic sheeted all of the research into a binder
-read for pol theory and did the homework (for once)
-studied for my philosophy class (which hopefully I'll pass)
-made my bed (which, of course, is separate from cleaning my room)

I will possibly die during the course of the day BUT!!! I checked my email and there's one from my costuming teacher and class is cancelled. It also happens to be my last class SO I'll be finished at noon today which means in 6 hours, I can get some sleep :)

In the City that Never Sleeps...

....You honestly don't have time for anything. Like updating this blog.
SO, what I've decided to do is write lists of things I've done on what day and maybe, eventually, some day I'll post pictures. Mmkay? Cool.

-Watched Juno and Over the Hedge

-Saw my first NYC rat since coming home

TUESDAY
-Visited PPAS and spent about five years talking to all my old teachers with Jeff
-WEST WAY!!! With Madeline and Jeff

-Drove home, and almost got attacked by a bum in our car. Not really, but my dad thought so since he locked the doors and made me roll up my window.

I Want to Be a Part of it!!

I'M FINALLY BACK IN NEW YORK!!!! (And with internet access... finally).

So, 5 hour bus rides? Not my thing. It's really not okay. I was sooo incredibly stiff getting off the bus. BUT I had an incredibly Carve sandwich (which also happened to be my last meal in New York before college) and some fudge and that made my day.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I FOUND OUT??? I have not only one, but TWO drafting tables in my house.
One is travel-sized with a parallel rule and the other is big, but I'd have to use a T-Square. In any case, drafting parties should be held at my house.
I really hope this can actually be a sort of bribe for my friends to visit me :)

Since I got back yesterday, it's been a more or less normal day in the city.

-Hung out in Times Square with Jeff
-Got asked to hold an orange gnome and get my picture taken with it
-Harassed by people to see comedy shows
-Visited my high school and watched the matinee of the black box, The Story (which was OH MY GOD incredible!)
-Jump-attacked Kevin outside of BAM
-Almost got hit by a bus, and laughed about it afterwards
-Went to Fordham, where I saw Shelbs in Mrs. Packard (and a guy in a UConn sweatshirt) which was.... oh sweet Jesus. Amazing.
-Had PINKBERRY!!!
-Went home

The only disappointments I've had are that it seems more crowded than I remember, there appear to be less pigeons, and I have yet to see an NYC rat.
But other than that, I love New York. I honestly can't believe I've been gone for three months. That's just preposterous.

Still Sleepless...

Remember when I was really tired? I fell asleep taking notes in Pol Theory today.

Legit.

You can clearly tell which parts of my notes I was asleep during.
And where I woke up to cross out my illegible handwriting and then promptly fell back asleep while writing.

But good news, I got to see the meteors last night! It was awesome.

10:39
I fell asleep watching Love in the Afternoon with Regan. I love that movie but I'm just so tired. This isn't okay. I have work to do! Plus I'm missing out on Audrey Hepburn being super class with an older man. That's just unacceptable.

Sleep? You Can Do That When You Die

Apologies for not updating yesterday, I actually had something interesting to say... and I forgot what it was.

But it's really all thanks to the fact that I get no sleep. I legit almost died yesterday.
This photo was taken at about 5 o'clock yesterday, and then I fell asleep. Seriously.
I even missed the meteor shower which I'm slightly upset about because it looked like a fun time, but there was really no way that I was making it 'til 4 am in the cold.

However, I did manage to get my drafting done. AND had a wing from Wings. So I feel like that made up for the lack of astronomical events in my life.

You Know What I Hate?

I really hate when I get billed for things that I didn't even sign up for. And then I can't cancel the membership because it doesn't recognize my email and I have no clue what the password is. And I really, really hate waiting for them to email be back so I can sort out this problem and stop having my money wasted because it's really really stupid.

*&^%$#$^(*$#

I'm also not a fan of waking up early and spending all day at focus call only to come back to have to finish writing my paper with six hours less than I thought I had.
But good news, I finished two of the more lengthy paragraphs. I still need a thesis though... hm...
Today's gonna be a great day.

6:16
Turns out, I spent seven hours at focus call. But I guess it was alright, even though I got back cramps from contorting myself in 18 inch spaces to get to a light hidden by another light a yard away. That was fun.
But I hung an electric by myself... and then circuited it the wrong way.
And those people cancelled my membership which was awesome.
And the weather was nice and damp and smelled lovely.
AND we got donuts this morning!

As of now, I still haven't finished my paper. But I'm realizing that I really don't have that much left to do because I can't go over my limit of five pages and I write a lot. I just need a thesis.
Maybe one day I'll find one....
Stupid essay.

1:38
FINALLY FINISHED THIS ESSAY!!!!
Granted it's probably one of the shottiest papers I've written, it's done and able to be turned in. Hooray!
