WINTER BREAK!!!

HAND DRAFTING IS OVER. I'm going to hibernate until next semester.

P.S. I got an A- in hand drafting and a B- in political theory. SO I have a 3.1 GPA (thank you failed test in Philosophy and Logic). But it's cool. Because it's over 3.0 and I can always do better next semester. WHOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Professional Hobo-ism Seems to be a Logical Option

At this point in time, I may as well just drop out of college.
1. Because I'm exhausted and stressed to the point of physical illness.
2. Because this stupid philosophy and logic course is kicking my ass with studying.

Good news, I got at least a B on my political theory exam so I have at least a C+ in the class, therefore I will most likely get a 3.0 (thank goodness).

I can't wait to go home so that I can sleep for a month.

I Refuse to Study Right Now

I should be studying for finals. And I was for a good long while... BUT! I feel like butt right now and I'm terrified I'm going to fail. Therefore I don't study.
Make sense? Nope.
Will I start being logical and get some work done? Not likely.

Really, in all honesty, I have no idea how it could be worse right now. Not only do I have a final at 8am and I am SOOO unprepared it's not even funny, I'm feeling super nosh and my head is killing me and stupid North can't get their heating to work in my room so that's really not helping my situation any.

.....BLEH. I think I'm done ranting for now. I'm going to attempt to learn an entire semester of political theory in about 6 hours. WHOOOOO!!!!!

It's Been a While....

I haven't had a life for the past couple of weeks (thanks to school) to update.
However, there are some important things that should be noted:
  1. Mike Demers, you are not Mel Gibson (yeah, I'm talking about you.)
  2. Marknovick.blogspot.com (this needs to exist soon, btw) was not paid to promote the Greg Purnell Daily, it's just that awesome.
  3. I'm currently dying. Thank you, college and shitty heating in North.
But, good news! I may possibly not fail out of school this semester! WHOOO!!! I just need to ace my political theory final, raise my philosophy and logic grade a few points, and get As in all of my theatre classes. No biggie.
But really, so funny. Especially since I definitely do not have enough done for drafting, which is due Thursday. GUESS WHO'S NOT SLEEPING EVEN THOUGH SHE'S GOING TO DIE OF SOME WEIRD COLD?? This one!

All Day/Nighters

All I really have to say is thank god I managed to get back to UConn before 10:30 Sunday night like my dad was planning because I have spent the entire Sunday working.
Technically I should still be working, but I'm dying a little inside so I stopped for a bit.
Let's see, today I:
-almost entirely cleaned my room
-completed a watercolor painting
-got over 40 pieces of research for A Christmas Carol
-cut, pasted, organized and plastic sheeted all of the research into a binder
-read for pol theory and did the homework (for once)
-studied for my philosophy class (which hopefully I'll pass)
-made my bed (which, of course, is separate from cleaning my room)

I will possibly die during the course of the day BUT!!! I checked my email and there's one from my costuming teacher and class is cancelled. It also happens to be my last class SO I'll be finished at noon today which means in 6 hours, I can get some sleep :)

In the City that Never Sleeps...

I Want to Be a Part of it!!

I'M FINALLY BACK IN NEW YORK!!!! (And with internet access... finally).

So, 5 hour bus rides? Not my thing. It's really not okay. I was sooo incredibly stiff getting off the bus. BUT I had an incredibly Carve sandwich (which also happened to be my last meal in New York before college) and some fudge and that made my day.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I FOUND OUT??? I have not only one, but TWO drafting tables in my house.
One is travel-sized with a parallel rule and the other is big, but I'd have to use a T-Square. In any case, drafting parties should be held at my house.
I really hope this can actually be a sort of bribe for my friends to visit me :)

Since I got back yesterday, it's been a more or less normal day in the city.

-Hung out in Times Square with Jeff
-Got asked to hold an orange gnome and get my picture taken with it
-Harassed by people to see comedy shows
-Visited my high school and watched the matinee of the black box, The Story (which was OH MY GOD incredible!)
-Jump-attacked Kevin outside of BAM
-Almost got hit by a bus, and laughed about it afterwards
-Went to Fordham, where I saw Shelbs in Mrs. Packard (and a guy in a UConn sweatshirt) which was.... oh sweet Jesus. Amazing.
-Had PINKBERRY!!!
-Went home

The only disappointments I've had are that it seems more crowded than I remember, there appear to be less pigeons, and I have yet to see an NYC rat.
But other than that, I love New York. I honestly can't believe I've been gone for three months. That's just preposterous.

Still Sleepless...

Remember when I was really tired? I fell asleep taking notes in Pol Theory today.

Legit.

You can clearly tell which parts of my notes I was asleep during.
And where I woke up to cross out my illegible handwriting and then promptly fell back asleep while writing.

But good news, I got to see the meteors last night! It was awesome.

10:39
I fell asleep watching Love in the Afternoon with Regan. I love that movie but I'm just so tired. This isn't okay. I have work to do! Plus I'm missing out on Audrey Hepburn being super class with an older man. That's just unacceptable.

Sleep? You Can Do That When You Die

Apologies for not updating yesterday, I actually had something interesting to say... and I forgot what it was.

But it's really all thanks to the fact that I get no sleep. I legit almost died yesterday.
This photo was taken at about 5 o'clock yesterday, and then I fell asleep. Seriously.
I even missed the meteor shower which I'm slightly upset about because it looked like a fun time, but there was really no way that I was making it 'til 4 am in the cold.

However, I did manage to get my drafting done. AND had a wing from Wings. So I feel like that made up for the lack of astronomical events in my life.

You Know What I Hate?

I really hate when I get billed for things that I didn't even sign up for. And then I can't cancel the membership because it doesn't recognize my email and I have no clue what the password is. And I really, really hate waiting for them to email be back so I can sort out this problem and stop having my money wasted because it's really really stupid.

*&^%$#$^(*$#

I'm also not a fan of waking up early and spending all day at focus call only to come back to have to finish writing my paper with six hours less than I thought I had.
But good news, I finished two of the more lengthy paragraphs. I still need a thesis though... hm...
Today's gonna be a great day.

6:16
Turns out, I spent seven hours at focus call. But I guess it was alright, even though I got back cramps from contorting myself in 18 inch spaces to get to a light hidden by another light a yard away. That was fun.
But I hung an electric by myself... and then circuited it the wrong way.
And those people cancelled my membership which was awesome.
And the weather was nice and damp and smelled lovely.
AND we got donuts this morning!

As of now, I still haven't finished my paper. But I'm realizing that I really don't have that much left to do because I can't go over my limit of five pages and I write a lot. I just need a thesis.
Maybe one day I'll find one....
Stupid essay.

1:38
FINALLY FINISHED THIS ESSAY!!!!
Granted it's probably one of the shottiest papers I've written, it's done and able to be turned in. Hooray!

Procrastination Nation

Maybe it's just me, but I always get this feeling that whenever I have a mountain of work to get done in a very limited amount of time, I tend to completely avoid it.

I may in fact be doing that right now.

I've been up for a little over three hours and all I've done so far today is watch V for Vendetta. Really though, it's not even the movie I should be watching if I want to get work done. I should at least get out of bed and clean my room, which is among one of the many things I should be doing in order to be productive today.
Or at least turn on my room light so I can stop pretending that it's still dark outside and have more of an excuse to still be napping.

5:24
SURPRISE!!! I actually made it out of bed, showered, and am currently doing laundry while writing my paper. Well... I was until I decided to take a break to update this post to say that I wasn't procrastinating anymore...
That's a bit of a fail.
I really didn't actually write very much, but I'm filling out my outline, which is a start.
I still don't have a thesis but I think I'll get there soon and I'm pretty sure I can finish half the work on my paper by tonight.

Maybe.

Here's hoping since it's due on Monday!

7:52
Still doing laundry. I think I'm on my.... 8th? load. Yeah... I have a lot of clothes. Some have been chilling waiting to be washed for maybe a month now.

Anyway, I'm avoiding this essay again. I just got back from my room to grab the next to loads to put away and instead of spending the time doing more of my paper, I cleaned my room.
Granted that was on my list of things to do, but still....
Good news about it tho, I have a paragraph done on Machiavelli which is more or less coherent and when double spaced it takes up almost a page.

1 down, 3 or 4 more to go.

I may just shoot myself in the face in the meantime....

11:52
I have yet to get further on my paper. BUT I cleaned my room! Yay!

I love how it's gotten to a point where I'll clean to procrastinate. That's nonsense.

Cool Kids Paint on Friday Nights

Cool kids in college do not party, they paint. For serialz. I've been in 109 painting for about three hours, but funny how I'm still not happy with it.

Shane has been here bothering me with his T-Square. I'm seriously considering breaking it in order to shank him dead.

But for realz, we shouldn't be sitting here being good students. We should be out getting up to shenanigans. This is a fail.

It should also be known that David O Smith is a terrible, horrible, lame person. I can't actually remember why BUT I do remember that I promised to say that he was lame on my blog. Hence, the former statement. And it's true.
Fo sho.
Even though I don't remember why.

10:18
I'm going back to my dorm to work on my Dark Knight paper for Pol Theory. Really... how cool am I?

This is a Super Awesome Blog SLASH Everything is Unacceptable

Greg has a blog with pictures from every day. Jackie has a blog with pictures of Greg every day.

I think I need a blog.
It's gonna be super awesome.

Actually, it'll probably end up being about nothing. But super awesome, nonetheless.

So, this blog is currently being created as I watch Mark and Greg do projection design for Galileo. It's looking pretty spiffy, no thanks to Greg. Really. He's useless.
Greg was supposed to let Regan, Sara, Jackie and I into the Jorgensen because we have no lives and were bringing food, but he didn't. Even after multiple texts and voice mails. He blames the service in Jorg. We say it's no excuse.

Needless to say, Mark got his fries and chips. I should be his favorite student by now. I think I should get more blue stars for my work.
Especially since I'm about to go shout out his website: novickdesign.com
Don't ever go to gregpurnell.com
If you feel like you need a dose of Greg, instead go to jackiecookfair.blogspot.com
Greg is lame.

MY BLOG IS SUPER AWESOME!!!!!

11:32
I'd like to make a slight revocation on my Greg is lame comment, but only because he helped me fix my blog so it looks pretty. He's actually still pretty lame.
He made us stand in the cold and we were forced to call Mark to be let in.
Unacceptable.

11:40
Greg didn't even finish the smoothie I allowed him to have because it's chock-full of vitamin C and he's ill. This just completely cements his lameness.

Apparently, Mark is getting three more assistants for his projection team. I don't think I'm one of them. I'm a bit upset because I brought Mark food. I feel unappreciated.
Unacceptable.
